This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Cambridge International Systems, Inc. We are currently looking for an Electronic Security System Design Engineer – Secret Clearance in South Carolina.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electronic Security System Design Engineer to support critical security and defense projects. In this role, you will design, deploy, and test electronic security systems, ensuring solutions meet stringent operational and safety standards. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project teams, and stakeholders while conducting site surveys, developing material lists, and performing pre-installation testing. This position offers a dynamic, mission-focused environment where technical expertise, problem-solving, and hands-on implementation directly contribute to national security and operational success. The role requires adaptability, travel flexibility, and an active DoD Secret clearance.

Accountabilities:

  • Conduct site surveys and gather essential data to support security system design and installation.
  • Design electronic security systems and subsystems, translating concepts into functional solutions.
  • Generate material lists, prepare documentation, and participate in design reviews.
  • Perform Pre-Installation, Testing, and Checkout (PITCO) activities in engineering facilities.
  • Leverage manufacturer documentation and technical guidance during system development.
  • Assist with scope definition, specification, and budget write-ups for proposal capture.
  • Conduct physical installation activities, including working in varied locations and outdoor environments.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, electrical schematics, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education preferred.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic security system manufacturers such as Lenel, AMAG, Software House, FLIR, Hirsch, MDI, Bosch, Pelco, Genetec, HID, and Axis.
  • Knowledge of operating systems used in ACS, IDS, and CCTV systems.
  • Experience in installation, testing, and troubleshooting of security appliances, field sensors, access control, CCTV systems, and battery backup controllers.
  • Ability to read and interpret ICD drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with IT tools and infrastructure technologies.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% CONUS and OCONUS, with an active passport for international assignments.
