In this role, you’ll help position Hone as a thought leader in longevity and health optimization. You’ll spot trends before they go mainstream, break down their scientific validity, and create best-in-class content that earns trust, builds authority, and sparks engagement.</p><p>You’ll be the editor behind some of <em>The Edge</em>’s most zeitgeisty pieces. You’ll work across formats, from articles to newsletters to freelancer-executed video content, and partner with top-tier writers and expert sources to make our content indispensable to health-obsessed readers. And you’ll ensure this content ladders up to Hone’s brand and business goals.</p><p><strong>About You:</strong><br>You live and breathe health optimization and longevity science. You’re the first to know when a new protocol makes waves on a podcast or when a groundbreaking clinical study drops. Your group chat depends on you to explain whether the latest biohack is legit or just hype. You’re a science-literate editor who doesn’t just report on longevity trends; you decode them, contextualize them, and help readers navigate them confidently and clearly.</p><p>You’re deeply curious with a nose for what cuts through the noise and have a passion for helping people live longer, better lives. Your digital Rolodex is packed with best-in-class writers and expert sources. You know how to make complex science conversational and how to turn raw insight into content that informs, resonates, and drives impact.</p><p>You’ve got a newsroom sense of urgency, a wordsmith’s sense of voice, and the agility to work across formats. You’re excited to help Hone become a leader in healthspan, human performance, and evidence-based wellness. You’re energized by the pace, ambiguity, and mission-driven mindset of a growing startup.<br><br><strong>Please note:</strong><strong><br></strong>This role isn’t a fit for candidates with experience limited to general health &amp; wellness content, lifestyle content, or unvetted trend coverage. We’re looking for someone who brings scientific rigor, editorial authority, and a sharp sense of brand-building to everything they create, balanced by humility and mission alignment.</p><p><br><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the development of “longevity zeitgeist” content across blog, newsletter, and video to cement Hone as a leader in health optimization and longevity</li><li>Identify emerging topics with clinical and editorial potential in this space; vet their scientific credibility and evaluate brand fit</li><li>Write, assign, and edit high-impact content that decodes and evaluates longevity trends and science, delivering clear takeaways for a health-literate, optimization-obsessed audience</li><li>Own Hone’s newsletter, developing a sharp editorial voice, growing engagement, and transforming it into a key channel for brand authority and audience connection</li><li>Manage a small roster of freelancers and external creators across written and multimedia content</li><li>Work with the Senior Editorial Director to elevate storytelling across channels</li><li>Track content performance and engagement, using insights to refine formats, angles, and distribution</li><li>Collaborate with SEO and medical reviewers to ensure content is discoverable, accurate, and trustworthy</li></ul><ul><li>Occasionally collaborate with other editorial team members on evergreen content or team-wide initiatives</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>8–10+ years of experience in health journalism or digital media, with a focus on health science, health optimization, or human performance</li><li>Excellent editorial judgment and writing skills, with a clear, modern, and science-forward voice that connects to readers wherever they are in their health journies</li><li>A deep understanding of the longevity space—covering topics like hormones, metabolism, cognitive health, sleep, and fitness from a scientific lens</li><li>Proven experience producing both newsworthy content and brand-forward editorial aligned with broader marketing objectives</li><li>Newsletter experience, from editorial development to engagement optimization</li><li>A network of high-caliber writers and expert sources in the health and science space</li><li>Multimedia content creation or oversight experience (e.g., video scripting, social integration, podcast collaboration)</li><li>Familiarity with SEO and performance analytics tools such as GA4, Search Console, and Ahrefs</li><li>Experience aligning editorial with business goals</li><li>Bonus: You walk the walk.
