This role leads a federally funded, mission-driven program focused on supporting youth who are DeafBlind with additional complex needs, with a strong emphasis on independence, inclusion, and quality of life. The position combines strategic leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on program execution within a highly collaborative national environment. The Director ensures the successful design, delivery, and continuous improvement of program activities aligned with federal grant requirements. This includes coordination with national partners, research and professional development teams, and internal leadership structures. The role also oversees data-driven evaluation, reporting, and compliance to ensure accountability and impact. It is a unique opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant initiative that directly improves outcomes for underserved youth populations.


Accountabilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of a federally funded, one-year national program supporting youth who are DeafBlind with complex needs, ensuring alignment with organizational mission and strategic goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day program operations, ensuring effective execution of activities, coordination of services, and achievement of defined program outcomes.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal grant requirements, including documentation, reporting, allowable activities, and adherence to timelines and regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal research, data, and professional development teams to ensure consistency with evidence-based practices and organizational standards.
  • Coordinate with national partners and external stakeholders to align efforts, reduce duplication, and maximize program impact.
  • Supervise and support a small team, including performance management, coaching, task assignment, and professional development.
  • Manage program data collection, evaluation, and reporting, ensuring accurate tracking of outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present program updates, findings, and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support dissemination of best practices, research insights, and program learnings across internal and external networks.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in education, rehabilitation, public administration, social sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder or federally funded programs.
  • Proven experience supervising professional staff or specialists, with strong leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Strong understanding of federal grant compliance, reporting requirements, and program accountability standards.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills in cross-functional and national environments.
  • Experience working in disability services, deaf-blindness, or related human services fields is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with data-driven decision-making, research-informed practice, and program evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience working with national partners, technical assistance systems, or multi-organization initiatives is an asset.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured, detail-oriented, and mission-driven environment.
