About the Role:

As the Director of Supplier Quality, you will play a critical leadership role in qualifying, managing and optimizing the performance of our supplier and 3rd party partner base, ensuring that we consistently receive high-quality materials and components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement robust quality systems, risk management strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will drive supplier quality improvements and maintain the highest standards of quality across the supply chain.

You will lead a dedicated team of quality professionals, collaborate with internal stakeholders such as product development, manufacturing, procurement/supply and operations teams, and engage with suppliers to address quality challenges and enhance supplier performance.

You Will:

  • Lead Supplier Quality Strategy: Develop and implement supplier quality management program and strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring supplier compliance with product specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure open communication, alignment on quality expectations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier quality and performance. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) where necessary, ensuring supply chain reliability.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Supplier Quality  team members. Set clear goals, provide guidance, and foster professional development within the team.

  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track supplier quality performance, including defect rates, on-time delivery, and compliance with quality standards. Report results to senior leadership and other stakeholders.

  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement processes both internally and within the supply chain. Promote lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies to enhance supplier performance.

  • Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving: Lead efforts to resolve complex quality issues with suppliers, using structured methodologies like FMEA, and DMAIC.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, and R&D teams to ensure product quality from development through production.

You Have:

  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in supplier quality management or a similar role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position. Experience in manufacturing, automotive, medical devices, or electronics industries is highly preferred.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Manager) is a plus.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS), supplier performance evaluation, risk management techniques, and problem-solving methodologies.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence both internal teams and external suppliers.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop action plans to drive continuous improvement.

  • Project Management: Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Travel: Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed for supplier audits, meetings, and quality assessments.
