Position Overview:
Inseego is seeking a Director, Strategic Sourcing. The Director of Strategic Sourcing is responsible for developing and leading supplier selection, managing vendor relationships, and evolving our global contract manufacturing and Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) partnership strategy. This position is crucial for building, managing, and nurturing strategic relationships throughout the supply chain, including ODMs, CMs, and key component vendors. The role requires strategic vision to mitigate geopolitical risks, enhance market responsiveness, ensure scalability, and thoroughly understand cost competitiveness objectives—and the means to achieve them.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and cultivate strategic relationships with CM and ODM partners while maintaining an understanding of site-specific capabilities and expertise, ensuring alignment with product design and manufacturability.
- Optimize supplier selection and contract negotiations in close alignment with engineering, product development, and procurement teams to achieve time-to-market, cost efficiency, and quality standards.
- Monitor global supply chain risks at a macro level and implement contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for key components to support the company’s product roadmap, growth, and profitability goals.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key vendors and suppliers to drive strategic partnerships and long-term value creation.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and foster collaborative relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Collaborate with finance teams to manage product cost targets, cost forecasting, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain efficiency.
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in high-volume manufacturing services (CM, ODM, JDM, EMS), sourcing, procurement, and supply chain at a senior level.
- Strong manufacturing services partner relationships, with direct experience and a deep understanding of the landscape, geographical capabilities, RFP and award processes, and industry gold standards.
- Proven sourcing expertise with a successful track record in complex negotiations, cost reduction, securing favorable terms, driving supply stability, and improving quality.
- Deep understanding of the cellular component landscape, including relationships with major vendors (e.g., chipset, modem, memory).
- Demonstrated expertise and established strategic relationships with leading global supply chain partners, enabling effective collaboration and optimization.
- Strong expertise in strategic supplier management, vendor negotiations, and expert-level sourcing of components or materials used in wireless technology.
- Ability to build partnerships with product development and engineering teams to align competing priorities in support of Inseego’s and customers’ best interests.
- Experience working with mobile telecom carriers and wireless networks is strongly preferred.

Salary Range: $161,211 - $180,000
