Accountabilities:

The Director, Revenue & CoGS Accounting will oversee global revenue, accounts receivable, and cost accounting functions while driving scalable processes, strong controls, and strategic financial partnerships.

  • Lead the global Revenue, Accounts Receivable, and CoGS accounting teams, setting strategic direction for accounting operations, journal entry processes, reconciliations, and reporting accuracy.
  • Develop and execute scalable revenue accounting frameworks that support evolving products, pricing models, and global business operations.
  • Translate complex technical accounting requirements into efficient workflows and operational processes.
  • Drive improvements in ERP systems, revenue automation platforms, and accounting technology solutions.
  • Partner with business operations, finance, product, sales, and technology teams to evaluate new initiatives and ensure accounting compliance.
  • Oversee complex customer contract accounting matters, ensuring appropriate application of revenue recognition standards and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with technical accounting, reporting, and audit teams to support accurate disclosures and successful audit cycles.
  • Establish and enhance SOX compliance frameworks, internal controls, and risk management strategies.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing accounting organization by promoting continuous improvement, learning, and strategic thinking.
  • Provide executive-level insights through variance analysis, financial storytelling, and operational recommendations.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a senior accounting leader with extensive experience managing global revenue operations, technical accounting challenges, and high-performing teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 6+ years focused on revenue accounting in large, fast-paced organizations.
  • 8+ years of experience leading and developing management-level accounting teams.
  • Expert knowledge of ASC 606, deferred revenue accounting, and complex cost of goods sold structures within SaaS or usage-based business models.
  • Strong experience with enterprise ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP and revenue management platforms such as Zuora Revenue or Oracle RMCS.
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and communicate complex accounting topics clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage ambiguous situations and develop practical, scalable solutions.
  • Deep understanding of SOX compliance frameworks and experience designing controls for complex financial environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across finance, product, sales, operations, and technology teams.
  • CPA certification or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Experience with Big 4 public accounting, CPaaS, telecommunications, or consumption-based revenue models is a plus.
