This leadership role sits at the core of a fast-scaling, public SaaS environment, owning the global revenue accounting function and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence in revenue recognition. You will play a critical role in shaping how revenue is accounted for under ASC 606 while supporting a complex, high-growth business operating at global scale. The position blends deep technical accounting expertise with strategic influence, partnering closely with cross-functional leaders across finance, legal, product, and go-to-market teams. You will drive modernization of systems, automation, and AI-enabled processes to improve close efficiency and audit readiness. In addition to safeguarding financial integrity, you will help shape revenue strategy tied to new product launches and pricing models. This is a highly visible role that directly impacts financial reporting, investor confidence, and long-term business scalability.
Accountabilities:- Lead and own global revenue accounting operations, including revenue recognition, contract review, monthly close, technical accounting conclusions, and SEC reporting disclosures in compliance with ASC 606, SOX, and internal policies.
- Act as the primary subject matter expert on revenue accounting, guiding interpretation of complex arrangements, shaping accounting policies, and supporting non-standard deal structures across the business.
- Drive transformation of revenue processes through automation and AI-enabled workflows, improving efficiency, scalability, and control in close and reconciliation activities.
- Oversee design, integrity, and evolution of revenue systems and infrastructure, ensuring scalable architecture, audit readiness, and accurate reporting outputs.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Product, Deal Desk, FP&A, and Engineering to support pricing strategies, product launches, and go-to-market initiatives with clear accounting guidance.
- Lead and develop a high-performing revenue accounting team, fostering technical excellence, continuous improvement, and strong operational execution.
- Support financial planning and forecasting activities related to revenue performance and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with deep expertise in ASC 606 and revenue recognition within a public company or SaaS environment, with CPA certification required.
- Proven leadership experience managing revenue accounting teams or functions, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
- Strong experience with revenue systems and infrastructure such as NetSuite, RevPro, AREV, or similar platforms, with ability to influence system design and scalability.
- Deep technical knowledge of SOX compliance, SEC reporting requirements, and global revenue accounting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable, risk-based insights.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and present complex technical concepts to executive and non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while managing multiple priorities and cross-functional relationships.
- Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach when needed to resolve operational and technical challenges.
