This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director, Quality Assurance – Vendor Management in the United States.

This leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing the global vendor quality strategy, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and inspection readiness across the supplier network. You will oversee vendor qualification, auditing, performance monitoring, and lifecycle management programs, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to support both clinical and commercial operations. The position provides a platform to influence decision-making at senior levels, drive risk-based frameworks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead a high-performing QA team, foster a culture of quality excellence, and serve as the primary liaison for critical vendors and external partners. This role requires strategic thinking, regulatory expertise, and strong leadership skills to ensure scalable, compliant, and high-quality vendor operations. Accountabilities:
  • Define and lead the global Vendor Management Quality Program, ensuring scalability and compliance across all GxP suppliers
  • Oversee vendor qualification, audits, monitoring, and lifecycle management programs aligned with regulatory requirements
  • Establish risk-based frameworks for supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing oversight
  • Ensure inspection readiness and act as QA subject matter expert for regulatory audits
  • Provide strategic oversight of Quality Agreements, vendor performance metrics, CAPAs, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Influence cross-functional teams including Technical Operations, Clinical, Regulatory, and Supply Chain on risk management and vendor strategy
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing QA team, promoting a culture of quality, accountability, and operational excellence
  • Serve as the primary QA contact for external vendors, representing quality standards in executive-level vendor governance

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in a scientific discipline; advanced degrees preferred
  • 12+ years of GxP Quality experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including vendor management and supplier quality
  • Expertise in GMP, FDA regulations, and ICH guidelines, with strong risk management skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive operational excellence
  • Demonstrated experience with audits, inspection readiness, and regulatory interactions
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • ASQ certification (CQA, CQE) or auditor certification preferred
  • Experience supporting both clinical and commercial-stage products highly desirable
