This role sits at the core of a fast-scaling digital health organization focused on transforming cardiometabolic care through technology, clinical excellence, and AI-driven workflows. The Director, Provider Operations will own the end-to-end strategy and execution of the provider network, spanning hiring, onboarding, engagement, performance, and retention. This is a highly cross-functional leadership role with direct impact on care quality, provider experience, and operational scalability. You will design the systems and structures that ensure the right providers are in place to meet growing patient demand efficiently. Operating in a dynamic, mission-driven environment, you will collaborate closely with clinical, product, engineering, finance, and recruiting teams. This is a builder role for someone who thrives at the intersection of healthcare operations, workforce strategy, and scalable system design.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will own and evolve the provider operations function across the full lifecycle, ensuring a high-performing and engaged clinical workforce while enabling scalable care delivery.

  • Lead the end-to-end provider lifecycle across W2 and 1099 models, including hiring, onboarding, engagement, performance management, retention, and offboarding, while continuously improving the provider experience.
  • Define and execute workforce strategy, including capacity forecasting, supply planning, state expansion, and provider mix optimization (MDs, NPs, W2 vs 1099).
  • Build and monitor provider performance frameworks focused on quality, productivity, utilization, and efficiency, translating insights into operational improvements.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to design and enhance provider-facing systems that reduce friction and improve care delivery workflows.
  • Oversee provider economics and compensation models, ensuring alignment with business goals, cost efficiency, and scalable growth.
  • Lead provider operations infrastructure, including payment processes, workflows, and tools, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and scalability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical, Finance, Recruiting, and Product teams to align workforce strategy with business needs and patient demand.

Requirements

This role requires deep experience in healthcare operations and workforce strategy, with a strong ability to lead complex, data-driven, and cross-functional initiatives in fast-growing environments.

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare operations, provider operations, or workforce management, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles managing clinical or provider teams.
  • Proven success building and scaling provider or workforce operations in high-growth or complex healthcare environments.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with experience managing capacity planning, utilization, forecasting, and cost structures.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Recruiting to design scalable operational systems.
  • Deep understanding of provider engagement, performance management, and workforce optimization strategies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across diverse teams.
  • Preferred: experience in telehealth, digital health, or value-based care, and exposure to both W2 and 1099 workforce models.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package with equity participation
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible PTO and remote work flexibility
  • Professional development and continuing education support
  • Opportunity to contribute to mission-driven healthcare transformation
  • Collaborative, high-growth startup environment with strong leadership support
  • Access to a distributed, global team culture focused on innovation and impact
