This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director, People Business Partner - Product & Engineering in the United States.

In this senior HR leadership role, you will act as a strategic partner to executive leaders across Product and Engineering, helping shape how a fast-scaling technical organization grows, performs, and evolves. You will influence decisions that directly impact talent density, organizational design, and leadership effectiveness across high-performing engineering and product teams. The role combines deep people strategy expertise with strong business acumen, requiring you to translate technical roadmaps into workforce and capability plans. You will also lead initiatives around performance excellence, succession planning, and organizational change at scale. Acting as both advisor and change agent, you will help build the structures, systems, and leadership bench required to support rapid innovation and growth. This is a highly visible role where your impact will be felt across the entire technical organization.


Accountabilities:

This role is responsible for shaping and executing people strategy across Product and Engineering, ensuring the organization is structured for scale, high performance, and long-term technical excellence. You will partner closely with senior leaders while also leading a team of People Business Partners to drive consistent execution of people programs.

  • Partner with executive Product and Engineering leaders to align workforce planning with technical roadmaps and future capability needs
  • Lead organizational design initiatives, defining clear structures, roles, and accountability frameworks at scale
  • Develop and enhance job architecture, leveling systems, and career pathways to support growth and internal mobility
  • Drive performance excellence through rigorous performance management practices, coaching leaders on high-performance team building
  • Strengthen talent density by proactively addressing underperformance and elevating performance differentiation standards
  • Lead succession planning and leadership development strategies to ensure strong bench strength for critical roles
  • Use people data, including engagement, performance, and attrition insights, to inform strategic talent decisions
  • Design and execute change management strategies to support organizational transformation across technical teams
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of People Business Partners, elevating standards of strategic HR partnership
  • Ensure consistent and equitable application of people policies, performance frameworks, and employee relations practices

Requirements:

This position requires extensive experience in strategic HR leadership within high-growth technology environments, particularly supporting Product and Engineering organizations. You should bring strong organizational design expertise, executive presence, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in complex, fast-moving settings.

  • 12–15+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior People Business Partner leadership roles
  • Proven experience supporting Product and Engineering organizations in high-growth or product-led technology companies
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing People Business Partner teams
  • Strong expertise in organizational design, workforce planning, and performance management frameworks
  • Experience driving talent strategy, succession planning, and leadership development in technical environments
  • Ability to translate technical and product strategy into actionable people and workforce plans
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to influence executive-level decisions
  • Experience managing change initiatives in complex, evolving organizations
  • Excellent judgment, communication skills, and executive presence
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
