This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Veterans Programs in United States.

This mission-driven leadership role is focused on building and scaling innovative healthcare navigation programs dedicated to supporting Veterans across complex public and private healthcare systems. You will define and execute the strategy for Veteran-focused services, including partnerships with federal and non-federal organizations and potential engagement with the VA. The role combines external relationship development with internal program design, ensuring Veterans receive high-quality, accessible, and coordinated care. You will serve as a key voice for Veteran healthcare expertise across product, clinical, and operational teams. This is a high-impact position with significant autonomy and visibility, requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The environment is fast-paced, purpose-driven, and centered on transforming healthcare access for underserved populations.


Accountabilities:
  • Develop and lead the strategic roadmap for Veterans programs, including long-term opportunities for engagement with the VA and other federal healthcare stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Veteran Service Organizations and other external partners to expand reach and strengthen program credibility.
  • Design clinical workflows, referral pathways, and operational frameworks that enable effective care navigation for Veterans.
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert on Veterans healthcare systems, benefits, and VA navigation for cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with Product, Operations, and Revenue Cycle Management teams to build scalable tools, processes, and systems supporting Veterans programs.
  • Define, track, and continuously improve program performance and quality metrics to enhance outcomes for Veteran members.
  • Represent the organization in external forums, including federal healthcare discussions and policy-related engagements when required.

Requirements:

  • Deep expertise in Veterans healthcare systems, including VA operations and community care programs.
  • Experience working within or closely with federal healthcare environments or Veteran-focused organizations.
  • Proven track record of building programs, partnerships, or initiatives in complex healthcare or government-adjacent settings.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare benefits systems such as VA benefits, TRICARE, Medicare, and Medicare Advantage.
  • Experience engaging with Veteran Service Organizations or similar mission-driven institutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate across clinical, operational, and federal audiences.
  • Background in healthcare leadership, ideally within VA medical centers, VISNs, or national-level programs, or clinical credentials (MD, RN, PsyD, LCSW, or equivalent) with VA experience.
  • Experience in early-stage or high-growth environments where programs or systems were built from the ground up.
  • Passion for improving healthcare access and outcomes for Veterans.
