This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Treasury Risk in the United States.

This senior leadership role sits at the core of enterprise risk governance, focusing on building and overseeing a robust treasury risk framework within a regulated banking environment. You will shape second-line oversight across liquidity, interest rate, price, and capital risks, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and strategic business objectives. Acting as an independent challenger to first-line treasury activities, you will influence critical decisions related to balance sheet management, stress testing, and investment strategy. The role requires deep expertise in bank treasury functions and strong regulatory fluency, particularly with OCC and FDIC standards. You will also serve as a key liaison with external regulators and internal governance committees, including ALCO and board-level risk forums. This is a high-impact position where your leadership will directly contribute to financial safety, compliance, and scalable growth of a modern banking platform.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of the second-line treasury risk oversight framework, including policies, metrics, limits, and governance structures covering liquidity, interest rate, price, and capital risks.
  • Provide independent challenge and oversight of first-line treasury activities, including asset-liability management, cash flow positioning, stress testing, and investment portfolio decisions.
  • Review and validate methodologies, assumptions, and risk models to ensure alignment with risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
  • Develop and deliver reporting for ALCO, executive leadership, and board risk committees, ensuring clear communication of risk exposures, trends, and stress results.
  • Act as primary escalation point for treasury risk matters, including engagement with senior leadership and the Chief Risk Officer.
  • Serve as key interface with regulatory bodies and external auditors on treasury risk and ALM-related matters, particularly during examinations and charter-related processes.
  • Build and lead a high-performing treasury risk team, defining structure, responsibilities, and development pathways.

Requirements

This role requires a seasoned risk professional with deep banking and treasury expertise, strong regulatory understanding, and proven leadership in complex financial environments. You should bring the ability to operate independently, challenge constructively, and influence senior stakeholders across the organization.

  • 10+ years of experience in treasury risk management, asset-liability management, or related banking risk functions.
  • Strong expertise in liquidity risk, interest rate risk, capital management, and investment portfolio oversight.
  • Demonstrated experience providing independent second-line challenge in a regulated banking environment.
  • Deep knowledge of OCC, FDIC, and Federal Reserve regulatory frameworks related to treasury and ALM risk.
  • Experience engaging directly with regulators and supporting examinations or regulatory approvals.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including stress testing and scenario analysis.
  • Proven leadership ability, including building or managing risk teams and developing governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence executives, committees, and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or related field (advanced degree or certifications such as FRM or CFA preferred).

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus eligibility
  • Equity compensation and long-term incentive opportunities
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions
  • Employee stock purchase program (ESPP)
  • Paid time off, holidays, sick leave, and paid parental leave
  • Family support benefits including fertility, caregiving, and parental programs
  • Mental health, wellness, and employee assistance resources
  • Annual wellness and productivity allowances
  • Flexible remote-first work model with periodic in-person collaboration sessions
  • Career development resources and leadership growth opportunities
