This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Sales, Financial Services in the United States.

As a Director of Sales in Financial Services, you will lead business development efforts targeting the buy-side investment community, driving revenue growth and expanding market presence through consultative, data-driven solutions. You will be responsible for managing a high-performing sales pipeline, building strong relationships with hedge funds, mutual funds, and private equity clients, and contributing to product innovation based on market insights. This role requires a strategic mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and a results-oriented approach, with the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively. You will engage directly with clients through calls, presentations, and meetings, while mentoring your team to achieve aggressive sales targets. The environment is fast-paced and competitive, offering the opportunity to influence both client outcomes and the broader financial services market. Your impact will be measured through revenue growth, client satisfaction, and market penetration.


Accountabilities:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow revenue within the buy-side investment sector.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and pipeline development to closing deals.
  • Build and maintain high-level client relationships with hedge funds, mutual funds, and private equity firms.
  • Gather market intelligence and provide input for new product development to address evolving client needs.
  • Deliver presentations and proposals, articulating the value of data-driven research and solutions.
  • Maintain accurate sales reporting and forecasts using CRM tools.
  • Mentor and guide team members to ensure consistent performance and goal achievement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience selling data-driven research, products, or services to the buy-side investment community.
  • Deep understanding of financial markets, investment research products, and relevant technologies.
  • Proven success in consultative selling and business development, with strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly at all organizational levels.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative, organization, follow-through, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Entrepreneurial, goal-oriented, detail-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
