This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Infrastructure in the United States.
As the Director of Infrastructure, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling secure, reliable, and compliant IT and Cloud infrastructure that underpins the organization’s SaaS platforms. You will lead cross-functional teams to optimize deployment velocity, implement automation, enhance observability, and ensure a strong security posture across all environments. This role requires balancing operational support with strategic initiatives, driving innovation in infrastructure practices, and enabling employees to work efficiently from anywhere. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, security, compliance, and IT teams to create robust systems that support rapid development and regulatory requirements. The position offers the opportunity to influence technology strategy while mentoring high-performing teams and optimizing organizational processes.
Accountabilities:- Lead the architecture, reliability, scalability, and performance of SaaS infrastructure hosted in AWS and Azure.
- Oversee the management and operation of all EKS clusters across Development, Testing, Staging, Validation, and Production environments, ensuring optimized configuration, resiliency, and secure workload isolation.
- Drive cost visibility, forecasting, and optimization across Cloud environments.
- Ensure comprehensive observability, including log aggregation, metrics, SLO/SLA monitoring, and proactive alerting.
- Deliver infrastructure components with security-by-design principles and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Provide leadership for CI/CD pipeline management, artifacts and dependency management, and vulnerability scanning.
- Champion infrastructure-as-code, automation, and standardized deployment patterns.
- Partner with stakeholders across Customer Success, Compliance, Product, Security, and Engineering to ensure systems support auditability, traceability, and documentation requirements.
- Manage internal IT operations, endpoint security, identity lifecycle management, and access controls.
- Build clear roles, processes, and performance metrics for the infrastructure teams, and manage vendor relationships.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or related engineering roles, with at least 5 years in leadership.
- Hands-on expertise in AWS core services, including EKS, RDS, IAM, networking, and security.
- Experience operating in regulated environments, such as medical devices (ISO 13485, IEC 62304) or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of secure software development practices and Cloud security.
- Budget management experience for Cloud, tools, and operational costs.
- Strong incident response, reliability engineering, and operational excellence mindset.
- Proficiency in scripting for automation and security processes.
- Familiarity with virtualization, containerization, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
- SaaS product development experience or experience in FDA-regulated environments is preferred.
- Microsoft, Cloud, and Security certifications are a plus.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
