This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Foundations & Government Grants in United States.

This is a high-impact, senior fundraising leadership role focused on driving multi-million-dollar revenue through foundations and government partnerships. The position sits at the intersection of strategy, relationship management, and mission-driven execution, shaping how large institutional funders support critical programs for LGBTQ+ youth. You will lead end-to-end grant strategy, from prospecting and pitching to securing and managing six- and seven-figure awards. The role also owns long-term stewardship of key funder relationships, including major multi-year government and foundation partnerships. Working closely with program, finance, and advocacy teams, you will translate organizational priorities into compelling funding narratives and measurable impact. This is a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment where strategic thinking, precision execution, and relationship-building are essential to success.

Accountabilities:

Lead the overall strategy and execution of foundations and government grant fundraising efforts, driving significant revenue growth through institutional partnerships. Manage the full lifecycle of funding relationships while ensuring alignment with mission and program priorities.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to secure and grow six- and seven-figure grants from foundations and government entities.
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for major institutional funders, including multi-year, high-value partnerships.
  • Oversee grant lifecycle management, including prospecting, proposal development, submissions, contracting, reporting, and renewals.
  • Partner with program, finance, and advocacy teams to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities and compliance requirements.
  • Lead and coach a team, ensuring strong performance, accountability, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Build scalable systems, processes, and best practices for institutional fundraising and grant management.
  • Represent the organization in high-level meetings, presentations, and negotiations with funders and stakeholders.
  • Track, measure, and report on grant impact, ensuring transparency and alignment with funding expectations.

Requirements

This role requires deep experience in institutional fundraising, strong leadership capability, and the ability to translate complex missions into compelling funding narratives. Candidates should be strategic, highly organized, and confident in managing senior-level stakeholder relationships.

  • Proven track record in foundations and/or government fundraising, including securing six-figure and multi-year grants.
  • Experience managing end-to-end grant processes, including writing, submission, compliance, and reporting.
  • Strong people leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and managing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information into persuasive narratives.
  • Strong relationship management skills with experience engaging senior-level external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet ambitious revenue and performance goals in a results-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally across program, finance, and leadership teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Alignment with mission-driven work supporting LGBTQ+ youth and inclusive, equity-focused values.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship (visa sponsorship is not available for this role).

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $115,000 – $130,000 per year
  • Remote work flexibility within the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • Mental health support and counseling resources
  • 403(b) retirement plan with employer match
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays
  • Employee assistance program (EAP) with financial, legal, and wellness support
  • Home office setup reimbursement and monthly internet stipend
  • Inclusive and mission-driven work environment focused on social impact
  • Strong commitment to equity, belonging, and professional development.
