This leadership role sits at the center of a fast-growing, mission-driven healthcare organization undergoing active scale and transformation. You will be responsible for building and leading the full finance function, combining strategic financial leadership with hands-on execution across accounting, FP&A, compliance, and operations. The role requires someone who can bring structure to ambiguity, strengthen financial systems, and support executive decision-making in a rapidly evolving environment. You will directly manage and develop a small finance team while partnering closely with senior leadership on business strategy and growth initiatives. This position blends board-level exposure with day-to-day operational depth, requiring both analytical rigor and strong execution discipline. It is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in dynamic, high-change settings and is motivated by meaningful impact in healthcare. Your work will directly influence financial health, scalability, and long-term organizational success.

Accountabilities

You will own the full finance function, ensuring strong financial planning, accurate reporting, and effective operational controls while supporting strategic business decisions. This includes building scalable financial infrastructure and partnering with leadership on growth initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and sales planning processes
  • Developing financial models, KPIs, and performance benchmarks to guide decision-making
  • Preparing executive and board-level reporting with clear financial insights
  • Overseeing accounting operations including GL, AP, payroll, and month-end/quarter-end/year-end close
  • Ensuring accuracy of financial statements and maintaining audit readiness
  • Managing cash flow, treasury operations, banking relationships, and capital planning
  • Coordinating tax compliance, audits, and regulatory filings with external partners
  • Supporting contract negotiations, vendor management, and operational financial decisions
  • Overseeing HR-related financial and compliance processes in partnership with leadership
  • Leading and developing a growing finance team in a scaling organization

Requirements

You bring extensive experience in finance leadership within fast-paced or high-growth environments, with deep expertise across accounting, FP&A, and financial operations. You are comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels, with strong executive presence and communication skills. Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles
  • Strong background in corporate accounting with a track record of clean audits
  • Extensive FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
  • Proven ability to build or improve financial systems, processes, and controls
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams
  • Strong executive communication skills with experience presenting to boards or investors
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous, rapidly changing, high-growth environments
  • Healthcare or regulated industry experience is a plus, but not required

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ($130,000–$150,000) plus bonus eligibility
  • Equity or stock option participation
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • 401(k) plan with employer match
  • Paid parental leave
  • Generous paid time off (PTO)
  • Opportunity to work in a high-growth, mission-driven healthcare organization
  • Exposure to executive decision-making and strategic financial leadership
