Job Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy Development:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for event data processing and analytics across the organization.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers, data scientists, and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Define best practices for the collection, processing, and analysis of event-driven data to ensure consistent, high-quality insights.
- Align event data analytics strategies with business objectives, ensuring that data-driven insights support key organizational goals.

Event Data Processing Oversight:
- Oversee the architecture, implementation, and optimization of event processing systems that handle high-volume, real-time event data.
- Ensure the efficient and accurate collection, processing, and storage of event data from diverse sources such as user interactions, system logs, transactions, and external APIs.
- Work closely with engineering teams to design scalable and reliable systems that can handle complex event-driven architectures.
- Continuously improve data pipeline processes, monitoring and troubleshooting to resolve bottlenecks and improve performance.

Data Analytics and Insights:
- Lead the development of analytics frameworks to interpret event-driven data and generate actionable insights.
- Partner with product, marketing, and business teams to identify key business questions and deliver data solutions that drive better decision-making.
- Utilize advanced analytics techniques (e.g., machine learning, predictive modeling) to derive insights from large, complex datasets.
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, product management, and business stakeholders to ensure the effective use of event data for various use cases such as product optimization, customer behavior analysis, and operational improvements.
- Translate business needs into data models and analytic frameworks that solve complex problems and provide actionable insights.
- Partner with data governance teams to ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of event processing and analytics efforts.
- Regularly evaluate the performance and scalability of event data systems, driving improvements to meet evolving business needs.
- Leverage feedback and insights from business users to iteratively enhance data systems and analytics capabilities.

Team Development and Talent Management:
- Hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of data engineers, data scientists, and analysts with expertise in event data processing and analytics.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, providing opportunities for team members to grow their technical and analytical skills.
- Ensure the team stays up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in event data processing and analytics.

Vendor and Tool Management:
- Evaluate and select tools, platforms, and vendors for event data processing, analytics, and visualization.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external vendors and partners to support the event processing and analytics infrastructure.

Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify potential risks related to data privacy, security, and operational continuity and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies related to data collection, processing, and analysis.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or advanced certification is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or event processing, with at least 4 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong experience in designing and managing real-time event data processing systems and architectures.
- Expertise in data analytics, visualization, and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, R).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and event streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis).
- Deep knowledge of machine learning, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling techniques.
- Proven ability to manage complex data projects, deliver results under pressure, and collaborate with diverse teams.
Salary Range:
- The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $215,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
