JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Development will play a critical role in the financial sustainability and growth of Gather. This leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive global revenue strategies, managing fundraising initiatives, and cultivating relationships with donors, partners, and sponsors. The Director of Development will collaborate closely with the executive team to ensure the organization's financial goals align with its mission and strategic objectives.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Revenue Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year revenue strategy across revenue streams (mass, mid, major, planned giving, corporate, church, foundations and partnerships).
    • Lead on the strategy and opportunities for global revenue expansion.
    • Conduct thorough research on funding opportunities, market trends, and potential donors to identify new revenue streams.
  • Fundraising Management:
    • Oversee all fundraising activities, including major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, events, and individual donations.
    • Lead the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, ensuring they are aligned with the organization's brand and values.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key donors, sponsors, and funding partners.
  • Grant Management:
    • Identify and pursue grant opportunities, ensuring timely and accurate submission of grant proposals and reports.
    • Collaborate with program managers to gather necessary information for grant applications and reporting.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with the executive team and other departments to ensure alignment between revenue generation efforts and organizational priorities.
    • Effectively communicate the organization's mission, impact, and financial needs to external stakeholders.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting:
    • Monitor and analyze revenue performance against budget, providing regular reports and updates to the executive team and CFO.
    • Work alongside the CFO to create informed revenue forecasts.
    • Make data-driven recommendations for adjustments to revenue strategies based on performance metrics.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and mentor a team of fundraising and partnership professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members in achieving fundraising targets and professional development goals.
  • Compliance and Ethics:
    • Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
    • Promote transparency and accountability in financial reporting and fundraising practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High energy, maturity and leadership with the ability to effectively manage engagement strategies and tactics, organization, culture, and vision
  • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, with 8-10 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop innovative revenue generation strategies
  • Experience in grant writing, management, and reporting
  • Familiarity with donor databases and fundraising software
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
  • Personal thriving relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Passion for discipleship and evangelism
  • Discretion and confidentiality


REPORTING

  • Reports to: COO
  • Supervises: Development Coordinator, Major Gift Officers
  • Classification: Full time, Exempt


LOGISTICS:

  • Full-time employee, 40 hrs/week
  • Remote employment, with a minimum of quarterly travel required for All Team meetings
