This leadership role sits at the intersection of legal editorial expertise and advanced artificial intelligence innovation, driving the evolution of AI-powered case law content across global markets. You will define how legal research content is created, enriched, and delivered through next-generation AI systems, ensuring it meets the highest standards of accuracy, trust, and usability. Working at the forefront of legal tech transformation, you will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Editorial teams to shape scalable AI solutions that enhance research experiences. The role blends strategic vision with hands-on execution, guiding experimental initiatives from proof of concept to full production. You will also play a key role in establishing governance frameworks for responsible AI usage in legal publishing. Accountabilities:Lead the development and execution of AI-driven case law content strategies, ensuring alignment with product goals, customer needs, and global editorial standards.
- Define and manage end-to-end roadmaps for AI case law initiatives, from experimentation and prototyping through to full-scale deployment.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI across the case law lifecycle, including collection, classification, enrichment, summarization, linking, and ongoing updates.
- Partner closely with Product, Technology, Data Science, and UX teams to integrate AI capabilities into legal research platforms and workflows.
- Establish governance frameworks for AI content production, ensuring accuracy, auditability, human oversight, and risk mitigation.
- Oversee cross-jurisdictional AI content initiatives and ensure consistency in quality, coverage, and legal reliability.
- Collaborate with operational leadership to transition mature AI solutions into stable business-as-usual processes when appropriate.
- Define performance metrics and success indicators for AI-generated content, including quality, freshness, scalability, and user impact.
- Represent AI content initiatives to senior leadership, providing updates on progress, risks, and strategic outcomes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; JD or legal studies background strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in legal content, editorial operations, publishing, legal technology, or product-related roles.
- At least 5+ years of proven people management experience in complex, cross-functional environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading AI, automation, or data-driven content initiatives.
- Strong understanding of case law, legal research workflows, and editorial quality standards.
- Practical knowledge of AI technologies such as large language models, NLP, and human-in-the-loop systems.
- Ability to translate legal and editorial requirements into structured AI specifications and evaluation frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using performance data, metrics, and reporting tools (advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency required).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership.
- Strategic mindset with a strong focus on innovation, transformation, and operational impact.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones.
