Job Title: Director of Business Development

The Director of Business Development will serve as a key leader responsible for driving the company’s growth strategy by spearheading new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and fostering a high-performing business development team. As part of the leadership team, the Director of Business Development will guide the company through its next phase of growth by providing visionary leadership, developing robust business strategies, and ensuring cross-functional collaboration. This role requires a seasoned leader with exceptional people leadership skills and a passion for building sustainable growth.

 Key Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Leadership Vision & Strategy: Lead the development of a clear and inspiring vision for business growth, ensuring it aligns with the overall goals of the company. Communicate and champion this vision across the organization.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing business development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. Empower the team through professional development and skills enhancement.

  • Inspire & Motivate: Act as a role model and inspiring leader, instilling a sense of purpose and excitement around business development initiatives. Lead by example in setting high standards for performance, integrity, and innovation.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Cultivate strong relationships with internal leaders across sales, marketing, product, and finance to ensure alignment on growth initiatives and to remove any roadblocks to success.

  • Executive Partnership: Work closely with the Sales Leadership, and other executives, providing insights and strategic recommendations for driving sustainable growth, building new markets, and enhancing competitive advantage.

  • Cultural Leadership: Promote an inclusive and collaborative work environment that values diverse perspectives, encourages open communication, and leverages collective talents to achieve ambitious goals.

 Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Growth Strategy Development: Craft and implement a forward-thinking business development strategy that identifies new markets, partnership opportunities, and innovative ways to expand revenue streams.

  • Business Development Leadership: Direct and oversee all business development efforts, including the identification of key partnerships, alliances, and new business opportunities.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership:  Serve as a bridge between business development and other departments, ensuring cohesive collaboration and a unified approach to business growth. Break down silos and create a seamless partnership between teams.

  • Performance Management: Establish and track KPIs for the business development team, regularly evaluating performance and providing feedback to ensure goals are met or exceeded. Adjust strategies as needed to optimize performance.

  • Decision-Making & Problem Solving: Guide the team in making informed, data-driven decisions while also being a hands-on leader when needed to solve complex challenges.

  • Innovation Leadership: Encourage the exploration of new technologies, business models, and market opportunities. Lead the business development team in thinking creatively to address market changes and customer needs.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • 5+ years directing BDRs in SaaS (ideally vertical) environment. Healthcare a plus but not required. 8 years of business development experience, with 5+ years in a senior manager or director role.

  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple levels of the organization.

  • A visionary leader with a track record of driving business growth, inspiring teams, and building successful partnerships.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience with business planning, budgeting, and financial analysis.

  • Experience with CRM tools and data analytics to inform decision-making.

Remote Work Model:

This position is remote but does require monthly travel to the office. Our office located in Hoboken, NJ, with stunning views and a state-of-the-art workspace.
