This leadership role sits at the intersection of management consulting, public sector transformation, and health and human services (HHS) modernization. You will guide complex client engagements across state, local, and federal agencies, helping them improve service delivery, modernize systems, and enhance operational efficiency. The role requires deep expertise in Medicaid and HHS ecosystems, combined with strong executive presence and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior government stakeholders. You will lead multidisciplinary consulting teams while ensuring high-quality delivery, financial performance, and compliance with regulatory requirements. In parallel, you will play a key role in shaping new business opportunities, driving strategic growth, and expanding long-term client relationships. Accountabilities:- Lead and manage a portfolio of state, local, and federal health and human services consulting engagements, ensuring successful delivery against contractual, financial, and quality objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior government leaders, including Medicaid Directors and agency executives, building trusted, long-term relationships.
- Oversee engagement strategy, risk management, and delivery execution across complex, multi-disciplinary consulting teams.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with infrastructure modernization, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Maintain strong oversight of engagement economics, ensuring financial performance and delivery within approved parameters.
- Lead new business development efforts, including identifying opportunities, shaping proposals, and driving pursuits in HHS system modernization and Medicaid transformation.
- Contribute to revenue growth by developing and expanding client relationships and achieving annual new business targets.
- Provide direct leadership to consulting staff, including performance management, mentoring, recruitment, onboarding, and career development.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative consulting culture focused on quality, impact, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Public Health, Healthcare, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in consulting, government, or related advisory roles, including extensive work within state health and human services environments.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale, complex consulting engagements in the public sector.
- Strong existing relationships with health and human services agency leaders at the state and/or federal level.
- Demonstrated success in leading business development, including proposal development and revenue generation in consulting environments.
- Deep knowledge of Medicaid, HHS programs, regulatory frameworks, and public sector operating models.
- Excellent program and project management skills with experience leading large, cross-functional teams.
- Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and client advisory capabilities.
- Ability to provide strategic, operational, and analytical leadership in complex and dynamic environments.
- Active involvement or affiliation with relevant industry associations is a plus.
