This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, HEOR Value Demonstration - Emerging Areas based in the United States.

This senior leadership opportunity focuses on shaping Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) strategies that demonstrate the clinical, economic, and real-world value of innovative therapies. You will lead evidence-generation initiatives that support market access, reimbursement, and value-based healthcare decisions across emerging therapeutic areas. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will partner with cross-functional teams spanning clinical development, medical affairs, marketing, and global research to influence product strategy from development through commercialization. The role combines scientific expertise, strategic leadership, and business insight to ensure evidence generation aligns with evolving healthcare stakeholder needs. This position is ideal for an experienced HEOR professional who thrives at the intersection of research, healthcare policy, and commercial strategy.


Accountabilities
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive U.S. HEOR strategies for one or more products or therapeutic areas, ensuring alignment with clinical development and commercial objectives.
  • Design, oversee, and communicate health economics and outcomes research studies, economic models, and value demonstration tools that support reimbursement, formulary positioning, and market access.
  • Provide strategic HEOR guidance to cross-functional stakeholders, advising on evidence-generation priorities, study design, and value communication strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with pipeline marketing, medical affairs, clinical development, global HEOR, and commercial teams to integrate U.S. payer evidence requirements into clinical development programs.
  • Develop and maintain Integrated Evidence Plans and HEOR strategy plans while ensuring alignment with broader cross-functional initiatives.
  • Review study protocols, research methodologies, publications, statistical analyses, and final reports to ensure scientific quality and strategic relevance.
  • Represent healthcare payer and health system evidence needs within global and regional project teams, influencing evidence-generation priorities and brand strategies.
  • Partner with customer-facing teams to develop HEOR materials, value tools, and scientific resources that effectively communicate product value to external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing new HEOR processes, governance standards, and operational procedures while mentoring junior team members and contributing to departmental excellence.
  • Manage project priorities, budgets, timelines, and strategic initiatives within a dynamic and evolving healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant scientific discipline or a doctoral degree in a clinical field (such as medicine, pharmacy, or nursing) with formal training in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), such as a Master's degree or fellowship.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in health economics, outcomes research, managed markets, population health, or related disciplines, including both pre- and post-doctoral experience.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience leading strategic projects or multidisciplinary initiatives.
  • Pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
  • Strong expertise in pharmacoeconomic evaluations, patient-reported outcomes, comparative effectiveness research, observational studies, and real-world evidence generation.
  • Advanced analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills with experience applying quantitative methodologies to healthcare research.
  • Experience working with healthcare claims databases, electronic medical records, statistical software, and research programming tools.
  • Ability to balance scientific rigor with commercial strategy to support evidence-based healthcare decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with experience collaborating across global, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices related to HEOR and scientific communications.
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and meet all applicable employment screening requirements.
