We are looking for a Director, Grid Integration to join our world-class team.


Our ideal Director, Grid Integration with deep experience in the ERCOT market, large load Interconnection, and project management within the hyperscale data center or energy sector will be an integral contributor to the next generation of our business. You'll be working on the development and build out of various Soluna projects. 


The Director, Grid Integration is a highly skilled and experienced professional, proficient in market analysis, interconnection strategy, and de-risking multiple projects simultaneously, and a strategic thought partner. You will play a critical role in the development of parallel data center projects from the agreement to construction stage, with a focus on navigating ERCOT and TDSP requirements.


You will report directly into the VP, Power and work closely with senior leadership and the project development team. The role requires a hands-on, entrepreneurial-minded professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and willing to roll up their sleeves to support strategic priorities.

You will:

Lead Market & Interconnection Strategy

  • Drive legal and technical energy market analysis, with a specialized focus on ERCOT rules, PUC decisions, and Texas legislation impacting large loads.
  • Own and manage the Large Load Interconnection Process with TDSPs (Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas) from application through agreement, negotiating studies and upgrade costs.
  • Represent the company at key stakeholder meetings  (WMS, ROS, PUC workshops) and work with counsel/lobbyists to advocate for the large-load grid integration.
  • Survey new ISOs (SPP, MISO) for BTM load opportunities and develop implementation roadmaps.

Support Project Development & Execution

  • Manage a database for renewable assets, substation capacity, and real-time grid congestion and nodal pricing data. 
  • Support project modeling incorporating interconnection costs, and TDSP timeline risks
  • Establish critical requirements for projects through a stakeholder assessment. 
  • Report on and resolve issues blocking progress on project elements, particularly those related to interconnection queues and market rule compliance
  • Review equipment and materials specifications for compliance with interconnection requirements
  • Follow up with weekly IPP check-ins
  • Support on term sheet negotiation, curtailment and congestion risk assessment and project management of driving PPAs to close.
  • Give ongoing feedback on project development processes to optimize for interconnection efficiency

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Minimum 7 years of experience with project development in energy and data center infrastructure . 
  • Proven track record navigating the TDSP Interconnection Process and ERCOT Market Rules. 
  • Experience leading multiple projects with exemplary execution.
  • Experience working in high performing teams and scaling organizations.
  • Entrepreneurial sensibilities, with a driving work style.
  • Education or degree in Management or Engineering
