DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL SYSTEMS
The Director of Financial Systems leads the strategy, architecture, and integration roadmaps for Scentbird's financial technology ecosystem, with a primary focus on NetSuite as our core ERP platform. This senior leadership role drives high-impact improvements in financial operations efficiency, data integrity, automation, and scalability to support rapid business growth in our subscription-based e-commerce model. The position ensures robust governance, compliance, and risk management across financial systems while enabling seamless integrations with other business applications. Reporting directly to the CTO, this role sits within the Technology/Finance department and collaborates closely with Finance, Accounting, IT, and cross-functional teams to align systems with strategic business objectives.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Define and execute the long-term strategy, architecture, and integration roadmaps for financial systems, prioritizing NetSuite enhancements to support evolving business needs
- Oversee NetSuite governance, including role-based access controls, segregation of duties, audit trails, change management, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX readiness, data privacy standards)
- Lead the financial systems team in system configuration, upgrades, customizations, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization to ensure reliability, performance, and security
- Manage integrations between NetSuite and other platforms (e.g., e-commerce, CRM, payment gateways, inventory, analytics tools) to enable end-to-end process automation and real-time data flow
- Establish and enforce internal controls, data integrity standards, security protocols, and monitoring processes to mitigate risks and support audit readiness
- Collaborate with Finance leadership on financial reporting, process automation, and analytics initiatives using NetSuite tools like SuiteAnalytics, Saved Searches, and SuiteScripts
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for automation, process re-engineering, and technology adoption to reduce manual effort and enhance accuracy
- Provide strategic guidance on financial systems projects, vendor management, budgeting for system initiatives, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment

What You’ll Need to Have:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in financial IT, ERP systems implementation, administration, and governance, with significant hands-on expertise in enterprise financial platforms
- Proven expertise in NetSuite (Oracle NetSuite), including administration, configuration, customization (SuiteBuilder, SuiteFlow, SuiteScript), integrations (SuiteTalk, REST APIs), and governance/compliance best practices
- Relevant certifications such as NetSuite Administrator, NetSuite ERP Consultant, CISSP, CISA, or equivalent security/compliance credentials
- Strong understanding of financial processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, financial close, reporting) in a subscription or e-commerce environment
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing complex projects, and driving ERP/system transformations in mid-to-large organizations
- Deep knowledge of internal controls, risk management, audit trails, segregation of duties, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR considerations)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills with proficiency in tools like SQL, BI/reporting platforms, and integration technologies
