This senior finance leadership role is responsible for overseeing financial accounting, reporting, and analysis activities across multiple business lines in a complex, multi-entity organization. You will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial statements while supporting strategic initiatives such as acquisitions, joint ventures, and international operations. The role operates at the intersection of technical accounting, regulatory compliance, and executive-level financial decision support. You will collaborate closely with global accounting, finance, risk, and compliance teams to maintain strong internal controls and high-quality reporting standards. This is a highly visible position requiring strong leadership, analytical rigor, and deep technical accounting expertise. The environment is fast-paced, highly regulated, and focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Accountabilities:- Lead accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis functions for assigned business lines, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Direct the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with GAAP and NAIC Model Audit Rule (MAR) requirements.
- Serve as the primary finance point of contact for assigned business units, coordinating reporting and analysis across internal finance teams and stakeholders.
- Monitor financial, operational, and control risks, and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to evaluate, implement, and strengthen accounting controls and financial reporting processes.
- Review general ledger activity to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with established accounting policies and procedures.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning in collaboration with cross-functional business teams.
- Develop and implement process improvements, financial policies, and reporting enhancements to improve efficiency and quality.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team, including performance management, staffing decisions, and career development planning.
- Oversee workload distribution, staffing levels, and operational performance to ensure departmental effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience; additional relevant experience preferred.
- 6+ years of management experience with responsibility for hiring, coaching, performance management, and team leadership.
- Strong expertise in GAAP and the NAIC Model Audit Rule (MAR), with deep understanding of financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience working with senior leadership and influencing financial and operational decision-making.
- Strong background in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and internal controls within complex organizations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and large-scale projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience collaborating across auditors, executives, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to drive process improvements and implement financial best practices across teams and systems.
- Clean credit history required as part of the role.
