Job Description

The License Compliance Director is a fantastic opportunity for a results-driven professional with a keen interest in Customer engagement and driving business impact to join a rapidly growing and dynamic business.

License and contract management plays a pivotal role in ensuring both IFS and our customers proactively manage the use of IFS’ Intellectual Property Rights with a view to mitigating any compliance risks.

This is very much a sales driven role with the post holder researching and aggregating data to find the deal within our existing customer base.  You will then have the hard conversation with the customer and close the deal to a constructive resolution to retain the ongoing relationship.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively work with partners and customers as a trusted advisor to ensure customer are using IFS software assets in alignment with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing principles, commercial constructs to multi-year enterprise software license agreements, and intellectual property rights management and effective at communicating complex licensing and contractual elements for mutual understanding in a customer/partner friendly manner.
  • Strong ability to perform in a matrix organization and assist install-base sales and partner managers to ensure business objectives are being met by providing analysis and context to support in their customer conversations
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate successfully with remote and close individuals and teams
  • Work with customers and partners to understand their current and future software usage needs to proactively advise them on optimal licensing models to remain compliant
  • Managing a small team of license management auditors and consultants to effectively review deployment data and develop compliance positions 
  • Building a strong pipeline of license management opportunities to achieve quarterly/annual revenue targets

Qualifications

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • +5 yrs. continuous experience with enterprise software sales , preferably as a director of VP
  • led complex negotiations with C level participants
  • expertise at reading contracts with a strong understanding of common law
  • diagnostic thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including writing and presenting
  • Comfort working across multiple time zones
  • the ability to remain clearly focused in rapidly changing environments
  • Proficiency with Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and remote meeting software/collaboration tools
  • Ability to map out activities and timeline for a complex customer engagement – including internal & external stake holders – leading to a commercial resolution.
  • Courageous individual who is able to lead difficult conversations constructively to achieve mutually agreeable outcomes.
  • Strong sense of curiosity with the ability to question the current ‘As Is’ state looking for new opportunities
  • Strong sense of ownership and willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Strong executive presence and a clear ability to distil critical facts and complexity into clear business cases and value propositions.
  • A keen sense of urgency and drive to achieve results.
  • Ability to manage a small team to review customer deployments at pace to convert licensing deployment evaluations to commercial opportunities.

Additional Information

This role is a remote position with travel to IFS customers  and offices around the globe as required.  This role would be based on North America.
