This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a DevSecOps Engineer (Mid) in United States.

This role is ideal for a mid-level DevSecOps professional looking to work in a fast-paced, highly automated environment supporting mission-critical systems. The DevSecOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure while ensuring compliance with DoD and federal cybersecurity standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, automate infrastructure and system configurations, and contribute to risk assessments and validation procedures. This position offers the opportunity to influence secure software delivery practices, optimize system performance, and support both operational technology and cloud-based environments. It combines hands-on engineering with strategic security oversight in a remote-friendly setting that emphasizes impact and collaboration.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automate configurations in Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
  • Support cloud networking, DNS, TLS, ingress/egress, and harden base images across cloud environments.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop recommendations for information assurance controls and validation procedures following DoD guidelines (CNSSI 1253, NIST 800-series).
  • Perform automated and manual validation of cybersecurity controls and ensure compliance with DevSecOps best practices.
  • Document processes, system architecture, and validation results for internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and QA teams in Agile processes to deliver secure, compliant, and efficient systems.
  • Research and troubleshoot technical issues, identify opportunities for automation, and improve infrastructure and system offerings.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in IT or DevSecOps engineering, including at least 3 years in areas such as CI/CD, systems integration, operations engineering, SRE, or cloud administration.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • DoD 8570-compliant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or equivalent, IAM Level II) with privileged access eligibility.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical training in IT, software development, or related field required.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar), Docker, and Kubernetes/OpenShift/Fargate.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps integration in cloud environments.
  • Active Interim Secret Clearance or equivalent T3 background investigation.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks and risk management, preferably with experience in DISA STIGS, CNSSI 1253, or NIST guidelines.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab, HashiCorp Vault, Argo CD, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Amazon EKS.
  • Prior experience evaluating and securing systems in government cloud environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Benefits:
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
  • 401(k) plan with matching contributions.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance.
  • Paid time off and company-observed holidays.
  • Professional development reimbursement and remote-friendly work environment.
  • Opportunities for career growth and exposure to mission-critical federal projects.
