We are seeking a technically strong and highly autonomous DevOps Release Manager to lead the packaging, release, and delivery of complex backend systems powering next-generation AI observability platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring reliable, scalable, and reproducible software releases across both cloud and customer-managed environments. You will work at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, and release operations, translating product capabilities into production-ready deployments. The environment is fast-moving, highly technical, and deeply collaborative, requiring strong ownership and the ability to operate independently. You will play a critical role in shaping how sophisticated AI systems are deployed securely and efficiently across diverse infrastructures. Accountabilities:- Own and manage end-to-end release processes for complex backend systems deployed in SaaS, cloud, and on-prem environments.
- Design, build, and maintain tooling and pipelines for packaging, versioning, testing, and distributing production-ready releases.
- Ensure reproducible and reliable builds using modern tooling and languages such as Go, Java, Python, and Bazel.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define deployment architectures across AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes-based environments.
- Support and optimize deployment workflows for high-performance, distributed systems operating in constrained or isolated environments.
- Improve system reliability, observability, upgradeability, and rollback strategies for enterprise customers.
- Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to understand infrastructure constraints and translate them into scalable release strategies.
- Drive automation and standardization across release engineering and DevOps workflows.
- Monitor release performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure system stability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure delivery processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, release engineering, platform engineering, or backend infrastructure roles.
- Strong experience with high-performance distributed systems and production-grade backend services.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following: Go, Python, Java, or similar backend languages.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and modern deployment architectures.
- Experience with build systems and release tooling, including Bazel or similar reproducible build frameworks (strong plus).
- Proven ability to design and manage CI/CD pipelines in complex engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of packaging, versioning, and release lifecycle management.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, small-team environments with high ownership expectations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across engineering and customer-facing teams.
- Interest in AI, LLMs, and emerging technology ecosystems is a strong advantage.
