We're looking for a DevOps Engineer with mobile expertise to lead our mobile infrastructure strategy. This isn’t just about maintaining systems — you’ll revamp, build, and scale backend infrastructure for mobile apps while working closely with our mobile backend team. If you combine excellent communication and planning skills with hands-on execution and a bias toward action, this role is for you.This is a remote position. Core work hours are in the Eastern Time Zone. US-only.<h2>What You'll Do</h2><ul><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using Terraform to support mobile backend services.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Own and evolve mobile infrastructure from the ground up—proactively identifying gaps and implementing robust, scalable solutions.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Collaborate closely with the mobile backend development team to understand needs, plan improvements, and deliver performant infrastructure.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Modernize and revamp legacy systems, introducing best practices across CI/CD, deployment, and security.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and deployment automation across multiple environments (dev, qa, production).</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Implement and manage serverless solutions using AWS Lambda and other services to support backend development.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Set up and optimize infrastructure for mobile-specific services including push notifications, feature flags, and API endpoints.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Build observability tooling—logging, monitoring, alerting—using CloudWatch, Sentry, and custom tools to ensure performance and reliability.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Optimize API performance, database interactions, and infrastructure bottlenecks impacting mobile experiences.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Build tools and scripts to streamline operational workflows and development efficiency.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Ensure security best practices across backend infrastructure, APIs, and mobile-supporting services.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues rapidly, taking initiative to prevent future occurrences.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Write and maintain clear documentation for infrastructure, deployment, and operations.</li></ul><h2>Tech We expert-level experience in AWS services and cloud infrastructure management.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">3+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining AWS infrastructure using Terraform to support backend systems.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services: AppSync, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS Aurora, and S3.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experienced in observability systems, performance monitoring, and alerting infrastructure.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Proven experience with Terraform, including published infrastructure-as-code modules and contributions to production-grade environments.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and automation workflows.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Excellent communicator with a proactive, execution-focused mindset.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experienced in serverless architecture (e.g., Lambda) and supporting backend development teams.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Ability to troubleshoot and support backend services built with TypeScript, Node.js, or Python, with a solid understanding of runtime behavior</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Independent problem-solver with a collaborative spirit and strong sense of ownership.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Familiar with GraphQL, REST APIs, and mobile-focused backend systems.</li></ul><h2>Nice to Have</h2><ul><li style="font-size: 10pt;">AWS Certified Developer and/or Solutions Architect certification.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Understanding of mobile deployment processes, app versioning, and supporting multiple app variants.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience with backend monitoring and analytics for mobile apps.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Familiarity with app store deployment tooling (App Store Connect, Google Play Console).</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Knowledge of container orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes) and microservices.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Understanding of mobile security best practices and API protection.</li><li style="font-size: 10pt;">Skilled in MySQL and NoSQL
