About the role

Auxo Solutions is seeking an experienced Databricks Engineer to help deliver applications to enterprise clients in the Insurance industry. Your responsibilities encompass supporting developers in building a strong infrastructure and automating as much of the systems as possible. Your role involves close collaboration with diverse teams, including UX /UI designers, application engineers, technical project managers, and development teams.


This is a contract role, estimated at 40 hours a week for the first 8 weeks then 20 hours a week beyond that (contract length is estimated at 6 months). The hours for this role are 8:00am - 5:00pm EST (subject to change).



What you'll do

  • Provide technical expertise and best practices for leveraging Databricks tools and features to Auxo's clients.
  • Provide innovative solutions to address complex business problems and challenges.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, continually enhancing skills to contribute to project success.
  • Conduct data discovery, profiling, and system mapping across core source systems.
  • Define a scalable Data Model aligned with stakeholder needs.
  • Design the standard data layer architecture for implementation in Databricks.
  • Source system inventory and data profiling: Current-state architecture and data lineage mapping.
  • Design of the Databricks standard data layer and schema registry.
  • Utilize ETL source-to-target mapping documentation; Build ETL processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Maintain reporting dependency and refactoring assessment.

Qualifications

  • A degree from an accredited College in a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ of experience building enterprise data engineering solutions in the cloud, including cloud native technologies from AWS and Databricks.
  • Experience with data quality, validation frameworks, and storage optimization strategies.
  • Enterprise data modeling experience.
  • Proficient use of tools, techniques, and manipulation: Cloud platforms, programming languages, and an understanding of software engineering practices.
  • Insurtech and/or Fintech experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and associated web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
  • Preferred Certifications: Databricks Platform Administrator Accreditation, Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
