This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Database Administrator in the United States.

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of mission-critical database environments across both on-premises and cloud platforms, including SQL Server and MySQL. You will play a key role in supporting database development, deployment, and optimization while implementing best practices and emerging technologies. This position offers the opportunity to lead database health monitoring, incident response, and performance tuning initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency. Your work will directly impact the performance and scalability of enterprise applications, supporting business-critical operations in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.


Accountabilities:
  • Maintain and monitor database environments to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
  • Respond to database alerts, escalations, and incidents, implementing both short-term and long-term solutions.
  • Deploy and manage database objects such as tables, indexes, stored procedures, and views across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Application Development, and PMO teams to drive scalable deployments and performance optimization.
  • Analyze performance metrics, query patterns, and logs to identify bottlenecks and inform tuning decisions.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and provide support across L1, L2, and L3 tiers as required.
  • Lead strategic database improvements, security compliance, and operational process enhancements.
Requirements:
  • 6–10+ years of database administration experience, with strong knowledge of SQL Server and MySQL engines.
  • Experience supporting on-premises and AWS cloud database platforms (RDS, Aurora).
  • Expertise in query tuning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting complex database issues.
  • Familiarity with SSIS/SSRS development, CLR, database assemblies, and very large databases (VLDB > 1 TB).
  • Experience with monitoring and management tools such as Idera, RedGate, SolarWinds DPA, Datadog, or Splunk.
  • Certifications such as MCTS, MCITP, MVP, AWS Solution Architect, or AWS Database Specialty are a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.
