Data Governance Analyst Lead (Remote - US)

In this role, you will lead the design, adoption, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide data governance frameworks that ensure data integrity, quality, and usability. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable data standards, influence strategic initiatives, and champion a data-centric culture across the organization. Acting as a subject-matter expert, you will guide stewardship efforts, develop policies, and drive the standardization of critical data assets. This leadership position requires strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to coach talent while overseeing high-impact governance and quality programs.

Accountabilities:

• Collect, analyze, and interpret data from multiple internal and external sources while advising cross-functional teams.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications to support standardized data integration and define KPIs, governed elements, ownership, and security classifications.
• Lead data governance and stewardship initiatives, influencing departmental strategy and ensuring adoption of policies, naming conventions, and master data standards.
• Coach and mentor junior team members while autonomously managing strategic governance projects.
• Oversee education and training efforts for data stewardship practices across business groups and project teams.
• Facilitate cross-functional data definitions, drive standardization, and recommend data quality improvement opportunities.
• Create and monitor governance and stewardship metrics; perform additional related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Ten years of professional experience in data governance, data management, or related fields.
• Strong expertise in data policies, standards, metadata, data quality, and stewardship frameworks.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and influence strategy across teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching abilities.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and guide cross-functional initiatives.
