What will the Data Analyst do?
Data is the foundation of what we do. It’s what made insurance one of the first industries to make computers standard in doing business. But it’s time to help our industry make a leap. To do that, we need more data and new data from various sources to both feed into our host of applications and drive our internal decision making. It’s this kind of data that will allow us to create newer and more equitable risk metrics to eventually take insurance away from its antiquated proxies for risk and into something more accurate and human. Grow with Coterie and work closely with Data Analytics and other teams in this impactful role.
- As a part of the growing Data and Analytics team at Coterie, you will be aiding in maintaining data-integrity
- Assist the data analysis team with queries and other data infrastructure-related tasks
- Craft insights to identify the “So What” of internal and third-party data and share these insights with stakeholders
- Support Subject Matter Experts in visualization and reporting efforts, including claims, marketing, finance and more
- Conduct insurance-centric analyses related to loss experience, production, and segmentation, using SQL and other tools
- The expectation is that this role will grow quickly within the Data and Analytics team to be able to take on new responsibilities
What we are looking for
- Data analytics experience (2 to 6 years)
- A bachelor's degree in analytics, math, data science, actuarial science, finance, or related field
- Proficient with SQL
- Willingness to think both critically and creatively
- Experience within the insurance industry
What will make you stand out:
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake or Apache Spark
- Knowledge of R and Python
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or data visualization tools
- Intimate knowledge of commercial insurance
Our interview process:
Our hiring process generally consists of 4 phases. The goal is to provide an opportunity for us to learn more about our candidates while allowing them to get to know us as well!

- Phase 3: Selected candidates will be invited to participate in our PDP survey and meet with our Hiring Manager for a 2nd interview via Teams video. This interview is designed to be more detail oriented and allows you to learn more about the role and expected to be 30-45 minutes in length.
