About the Team/Role
At Payzer, a WEX company, our Customer Growth Managers (CGMs) are laser-focused on expanding customer value through upsells, add-ons, and product adoption. This role is designed for ambitious, growth-oriented professionals who thrive on creating revenue opportunities within an existing book of business and aspire to move into full-cycle sales roles like Territory Sales Manager.
Unlike traditional Customer Success roles, this position is 90% focused on driving monthly recurring revenue (MRR) growth via expansion — not renewals. You'll work with customers who are already seeing value from Payzer and are primed for expansion. This role is perfect for someone with a strong commercial mindset who understands the customer journey and knows how to identify and execute opportunities that drive both customer success and company growth.
How you'll make an impact
1. Drive MRR Expansion and Upsell Success (Primary Focus – 90%)
Own a portfolio of existing customers and develop tailored expansion plans that align with their business goals.
Identify, pitch, and close upsell and cross-sell opportunities across Payzer's suite of SaaS and payments solutions.
Promote and attach relevant product add-ons, new modules, or feature sets that increase account value and stickiness.
Coordinate closely with Territory Sales Managers for more complex expansions or multi-location growth.
Surface and act on customer insights, usage data, and purchase patterns to proactively engage accounts at the right time.
2. Renewal Support (Secondary Focus – 10%)
Support and complete renewals as part of the upsell process (renew as you expand).
Flag potential retention risks to Customer Success or Sales leadership early.
Ensure that accounts remain in good standing and contracts are aligned with customer growth.
3. Build a Bridge to Full-Cycle Sales
Prepare for future movement into a Territory Sales Manager role by learning our product catalog, buyer personas, and value selling methodology.
Shadow TSMS and participate in multi-threaded sales discussions as needed.
Document wins, expansion plays, and customer objections to help build a repeatable commercial motion.

Experience you’ll bring
3+ years in a customer-facing growth, sales, or account management role in SaaS, fintech, or payments.
Proven track record of identifying and closing upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
Strong commercial instincts with a consultative sales approach.
Excellent relationship-building and storytelling skills with stakeholders at all levels.
Data-driven mindset: comfortable using CRM, usage metrics, and playbooks to guide customer growth.
Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, Gainsight, or ChurnZero is a plus.
Ambition to grow into a full-cycle sales role (Territory Sales Manager or similar) within 12–24 months.
