Manufacturing is undergoing its fourth industrial revolution, with factory operations increasingly driven by real-time applications that combine process and context data with advanced ML and AI algorithms. This is unlocking a staggering opportunity to improve the efficiency and productivity of existing manufacturing processes.Â
As a Manufacturing AI company, Oden is at the forefront of this revolution. We combine large-scale data processing architectures and advanced AI and ML algorithms within the Oden platform so manufacturing operations teams can continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize their production, across a diverse set of processes and conditions. Our goal is to maximize efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness in the manufacturing domain - to help True Makers Make Things Better!
We obsess over customers. Everything we do is to create profound results and delight for our customers. Every Viking cares about the purpose of the product and company, and prioritizes work based on customer end results. When in doubt, we go to the Gemba – we’re happy to put on steel toe boots and hit the factory floor to work with the production manager.
We move fast and follow through – we live by transparent and scientific thinking, act with urgency, and put in the work to find the best ideas with those around us.
We elevate each other by giving and receiving direct, honest feedback and holding ourselves and others to a high standard to help the team rise, deliver, and win together.
“Be True Makers to Serve True Makers.” We’re building a community that fuels innovation and accelerates our pace and impact. We always ask if there’s a better way to do something, even if it's unconventional – then we try it. We aim for bold yet simple solutions that cut through complexity and drive meaningful progress.
The Role:
As a Data Scientist focused on Customer Solutions, you will be responsible for developing and implementing models and algorithms that address customer needs for data analysis using the Oden platform tools and data. Examples include ML models for predictive quality and machine failure, extracting patterns and inferences from timeseries data etc. Your work will be used to drive the deployment of real-time solutions for customers, provide enhanced value to our customers from the data that we collect, and at the same time provide insight into customer requirements on the core Oden product and application roadmap.
As part of developing these algorithms and solutions, you will explore manufacturing data including real-time process measurements; context about this data collected from external systems; outcomes such as quality/cost/yield; and knowledge about the process from structured and unstructured sources. You will be required to apply a variety of technical methodologies from Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics to address the problem at hand. With an AI first mindset - you will also be expected to work with Generative AI models and frameworks to enable customer interaction with data and results through a natural language interface.
You will work closely with Oden’s Customer Success and Product teams, and directly with our customers, to identify and define the problem requirements, perform trials and proofs of concept to validate any solution, and deliver the resulting work via the Oden platform. You are expected to participate in end-to-end engineering and solution delivery, carrying projects from conceptualization to development to deployment, as well as acting as an interface between Oden’s technical team and customer stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Working directly with Oden customers to identify requirements for data analysis and modeling for manufacturing problems
Developing and validating models, algorithms, and methods that provide solutions via the Oden platform, data, and tools
Validating results in real-world deployments with our customers
Working with the engineering team to implement and deploy solutions
Generalizing solutions and innovating to create the next generation of product features
Working with the Product team to translate the customer problem into relevant requirements on the product roadmap
Engaging with the technical community to present results externally, keep up to date on recent advances, and advance the state of the art
Preferred Experience:
1-3 years professional experience as an ML Engineer/Data Scientist and degrees in related fields (B.S., or M.S. in Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Economics or related fields)
Proficient with Python, including most common ML and Statistics libraries
Proficient with SQL
Familiarity with process improvement and exploratory techniques (e.g. design of experiments and optimization)
Familiarity with Generative AI models - for both code development and experimentation, as well as to provide insights to customers and end users within the Oden platform.
Enthusiasm to own projects end-to-end; from experimentation to customer delivery
We anticipate the base salary band for this role (Data Scientist) will be between $95,000 and $155,000, in addition to equity and benefits. The salary at offer will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
