Summary:

The Corporate Counsel role will support the GoodLeap Legal team, focusing on the structuring,

negotiation, and execution of commercial transactions, particularly with GoodLeap vendors,

contractors, and customers. Corporate Counsel will engage with multiple business units across the company to support various initiatives, including strategy, risk, business development, IT, facilities, and technology groups. This includes drafting and managing various agreements and will work with and support in‐house legal team members and provide advice on legal issues to support all sectors of the business.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, ensuring compliance and alignment with company objectives, applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide advice on legal matters.
  • Manage and organize transaction documents and compliance records internally to ensure ease of access, reference and communication of requirements across the business.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by the company.


Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active bar admission in the state of practice
  • Competence as a lawyer with at least 2‐5 years of experience
  • Must have experience in drafting and negotiation commercial contracts (e.g. SaaS agreements, non‐disclosure agreements, commercial leases, vendor agreements)
  • Preference for candidate with experience in fintech industry and consumer finance

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‐paced, dynamic
  • environment
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering positive relationships with investors and working collaboratively with internal teams
  • Sound judgment with ability to make reasoned recommendations, cross think and determine who should be kept informed
  • Self‐starter with good business sense and a sense of urgency, honesty, and fairness
  • Good team player; calm under pressure
  • Independent, self‐confident and positive; inspires confidence from internal and external clients


Compensation: $120,000 - $125,000 per year
