About WorkWhile
Workwhile is not just a labor platform; we are the engine of the modern economy. We are looking for an ambitious, up-and-coming Corporate Communications Lead who wants to do more than just write press releases. We want a builder who envisions creating the "CNBC of Main Street."
Your goal is singular and bold: Turn Workwhile into the "Pulse of Labor."
When the media, policymakers, and the public want to know what is happening in the real economy—wages, shift demand, labor supply, and worker sentiment—they should turn to Workwhile first.
About the role
You will be the architect of our external narrative. You will bypass traditional corporate speak to build a media powerhouse that drives the conversation on the labor economy. You will take our raw assets—our massive worker data, our proprietary technology, and our academic partnerships—and weaponize them into compelling stories that dominate the news cycle.
What you’ll do
Build the "CNBC of Main Street": Develop and execute a content strategy that positions Workwhile as the primary source for labor market intelligence. Move beyond product announcements to publish "breaking news" on the state of the hourly workforce.
Be the mouthpiece for Workwhile Econ Lab: Serve as the editor-in-chief of our internal data lab. Work closely with our data science team to extract trends (e.g., "Real-time wage inflation in logistics," "The impact of gig work on holiday supply chains") and package them into digestible, quotable reports for top-tier media.
Manage Academic Relations: Leverage our relationships with leading labor professors and economists. Facilitate op-eds that lend academic rigor to our market observations.
Humanize the Data: Use our large worker pool to find and tell powerful individual stories that put a face to the data. Connect reporters with workers who can speak to the realities of the modern economy.
Newsjacking & Rapid Response: Monitor the news cycle relentlessly. When jobs reports, inflation data, or labor strikes hit the headlines, ensure Workwhile is immediately pitching a unique angle or data point to insert our brand into the coverage.
What we’re looking for
A Self-Starter with Hustle: You don’t wait for permission or a fully formed brief. You see a trend in our data, you see a headline on Bloomberg, and you connect the dots immediately.
A Storyteller at Heart: You understand that data is boring without a narrative. You can translate complex economic concepts into punchy, mainstream headlines.
Media Savvy: You have existing relationships with business and tech reporters (or the fearlessness to build them from scratch). You understand what a producer at CNBC or a writer at the WSJ needs to make a story work. Be able to build relationships with major social media influencers
Data Fluency: You aren't a data scientist, but you are data-literate. You know how to ask the right questions of a dataset to find the "hook."
Ambition: You view this role as a stepping stone to becoming a Chief Communications Officer or a major voice in the industry.
