About the Role

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead our accounting operations and build a world-class function from the ground up. This is a foundational role with the opportunity to make a direct impact on Fabric’s growth, financial rigor, and long-term success.

As the Controller, you will

  • Accounting & Reporting
    • Own the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes—including consolidated and international financials—in alignment with US GAAP.
    • Lead all accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and equity accounting.
    • Develop and maintain scalable accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
    • Serve as the primary liaison for external audits and manage the audit process end-to-end.
  • Operational Finance
    • Collaborate with FP&A and cross-functional partners on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
    • Oversee day-to-day treasury operations, ensuring optimal cash flow and liquidity.
    • Manage banking relationships and financial institutions, including oversight of investments and credit facilities.
    • Partner with People Operations teams to support payroll, benefits accounting, and related systems.
  • Strategic Initiatives
    • Play a key role in future M&A activity, including due diligence, integration, and post-acquisition accounting.
    • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and accelerate reporting through automation and systems optimization.
    • Support tax compliance and planning across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Team Leadership
    • Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing accounting team.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • CPA required.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in high-growth startups or established companies; experience in healthcare or healthtech is a strong plus.
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Proven experience managing audits, close processes, and financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Bill.com).
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills—you are comfortable in the details but also think strategically.
  • A self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building from the ground up.
  • Excellent communicator who can translate financial data into actionable business insights.
