We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead our accounting operations and help build a world-class accounting function from the ground up. This is a foundational role with the opportunity to make a direct impact on our growth, financial rigor, and long-term success. This is a fully remote opportunity, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute to meaningful change from anywhere.

What You Will Do:

Accounting & Reporting

  • Own the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including consolidated and international financials, in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Lead all accounting functions, including GL, AP/AR, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and equity accounting.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls that scale with our business.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the audit process end-to-end.

Operational Finance

  • Collaborate with FP&A and cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Oversee day-to-day treasury operations, ensuring optimal cash flow and liquidity management.
  • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions, including oversight of short-term investments and credit facilities.
  • Partner with the People team to support payroll operations, benefits accounting, and related systems.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Play a key role in future M&A activity, supporting diligence, integration, and post-acquisition accounting.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes, improve data accuracy, and accelerate reporting timelines through automation and systems enhancements.
  • Support tax compliance and planning efforts across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • CPA required.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in high-growth startups or established companies; healthcare or healthtech experience is a strong plus.
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP, including ASC 606 (revenue recognition).
  • Experience managing audits, financial close processes, and system implementations (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Bill.com, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; you love diving into the details but can think strategically.
  • A self-starter mindset—you thrive in fast-paced environments and roll up your sleeves to build from scratch.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.

Why Join us?

  • Make a tangible impact on the future of healthcare.
  • Help shape the financial foundation of a company from an early stage.
  • Work with a passionate, mission-driven team.
  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits.
