We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Search Fund CAAS Team. The CAAS Controller is responsible for managing the ongoing financial reporting operations of the firm on behalf of each Outsourced Accounting client, serving as a Trusted Advisor for clients, and managing and mentoring the Search Fund CAAS team, This position also works cross-departmentally with other Boulay Departments, manages team budgets, and leads a profitable functional area of the practice (which includes leading the team, building the business and ensuring the team delivers exceptional client service). This role also supports the business development and growth initiatives of the practice and is responsible for retaining talented people through strong leadership and coaching/mentoring relationships.

Responsibilities
- Manage all Search Fund CAAS Clients – from client proposal to final work products
- Primary direct relationship with assigned clients and regularly meets with each client as needed.
- Budgeting & forecasting, cash flow and other strategic planning
- Client ally in relationships with client’s professional team (attorney, insurance and financial experts, banks, etc.)
- Integrated resource and performance planning, solutions implementation, and management with other business areas (marketing & sales, HR, technology)
- Individual client budgeting and resource management, ongoing mentoring and supervision within the CAAS Team
- Oversee all aspects of Management Reporting and Analysis, as well as other technical work products
- Promote business through participation in business development activities
- Ensure that “best practices” are developed and used within the Transaction Group, including policies, processes, and tools.
- Be a key member of the overall CAAS practice, supporting a shared vision, coaching and motivating team members, and building a spirit of trust within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- 5+ years of related experience
- 3+years mgmt. experience
- Demonstrate ability and desire to bring new business to the Firm
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Strong business acumen, along with ability to identify and prepare business insights beyond basic financial statements
- Strong ability to engage in strategic client conversations beyond core financial areas.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in various accounting and other software, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of all areas of the general ledger
- Strong knowledge of month-end / year-end close procedures
- Strong knowledge of various interim tax returns (sales and use, provider tax, etc.)
- Knowledge of payroll and related tax filings
- Knowledge of internal revenue code, tax law, and tax processes
- Knowledge of financial statement procedures
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and knowledge of review, compilation, and auditing standards
