Accountabilities:The Consultant II will support financial advisory engagements for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) by analyzing financial data, improving operational processes, and helping clients achieve stronger financial outcomes. The role requires collaboration with senior consultants, client stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver high-quality advisory solutions.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, performance metrics, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support assessments of finance department performance using KPIs, benchmarks, and healthcare industry best practices.
- Assist in developing and implementing solutions to improve financial operations, revenue cycle performance, cash flow management, and reporting processes.
- Identify financial and operational process gaps and recommend practical improvements with guidance from senior team members.
- Support client projects involving budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting operations.
- Develop expertise in FQHC payment models, reimbursement methodologies, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to manage project timelines, deliverables, and engagement objectives.
- Assist with financial system, EHR, and accounting platform configuration, optimization, and reporting.
- Build strong client relationships through responsive communication, professionalism, and reliable service delivery.
- Maintain a commitment to continuous improvement, quality work, and professional development.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate combines healthcare finance knowledge with strong analytical, communication, and consulting skills. This role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, interpret financial information, and collaborate effectively with healthcare organizations and internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree with 2–3 years of experience in healthcare finance, accounting, revenue cycle, consulting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Healthcare finance experience required; experience supporting Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) is preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of financial operations, budgeting, reimbursement systems, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and solve business problems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and related business applications.
- Experience with healthcare EHR and ERP systems such as Epic, NextGen, eCW, Athena, Sage Intacct, MIP, Great Plains, or QuickBooks is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Ability to collaborate with clients and team members while managing deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering accurate work.
