Job Description:

The U.S. Army Garrison – Kwajalein Atoll (USAG-KA), located in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, is a critical site for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The Kwajalein Atoll serves as a strategic location for various defense and research operations, including missile defense testing and space operations. The existing family housing units on the atoll are outdated and require replacement to meet the current and future needs of the personnel stationed there.

Parsons Government Services Inc. has been contracted to provide Design-Build (DB) construction services for the FY18 Family Housing Replacement project. This project involves the demolition of existing abandoned family housing units and the construction of new, modern family housing units, along with an Area Distribution Node (ADN) for telecommunications distribution. The new housing units are intended to provide a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution that enhances the quality of life for the Warfighters and their families stationed at USAG-KA.

The Concrete Laboratory Manager must be willing to go to Army Family Housing on a Long-Term Status.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Ensure that the laboratory operates in compliance with the applicable ASTM, ACI, and USACE standards for testing and for laboratory certification
  • Managing a concrete testing laboratory with responsibility for scheduling staff and sampling/testing activities
  • Keeping administrative, training and testing/certifications updated and analytical results for all testing performed
  • Concrete field testing
  • Aggregate sampling
  • Field density testing of backfill
  • Involves performing concrete laboratory tests on construction materials under the direction of the laboratory manager.
  • Concrete laboratory testing may include, but are not limited to, stripping and labelling samples, setting samples for curing, monitoring daily temperature logs, and breaking of samples
  • Working in a team environment with other staff members to maintain a clean and organized laboratory in compliance with QA/QC initiatives and accreditation requirements
  • Additional responsibilities include assisting with other laboratory functions as needed and assisting with field work as needed

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent additional experience
  • Professional Engineer preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Must have ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Certification Grade 1
  • Must have ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Certification Level I
  • Must have ACI Concrete Strength Testing Certification Level I
  • Must have ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician Level I or II
  • Must have an active US passport
