Compliance Specialist

In this role, you will support the development, execution, and continuous improvement of compliance and risk management programs. You will collaborate across teams to monitor regulatory requirements, improve processes, conduct analysis, and ensure effective compliance operations.

• Monitor compliance workflows, approvals, inquiries, issues, and enhancements while recommending improvements to existing practices and processes.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of compliance programs, enterprise-wide initiatives, and risk management frameworks.
• Research and evaluate new and evolving regulatory requirements to support risk assessments, compliance testing, and written program development.
• Execute compliance reviews, control testing, investigations, and documentation activities while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Develop and enhance reporting frameworks, management reports, compliance libraries, and documentation repositories.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and provide insights to support audits, internal testing, risk assessments, and business improvements.
• Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to address compliance questions, regulatory inquiries, and complaint responses.
• Communicate complex regulatory concepts and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support the adoption of new technologies, reporting tools, and analytical methods to improve compliance operations.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced compliance or risk professional who can operate independently, manage complex assignments, and collaborate effectively across multiple business functions. You should have strong analytical skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to communicate insights clearly.

• 5+ years of experience in compliance, audit, risk management, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience partnering with internal business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of compliance and risk management principles with the ability to expand expertise across multiple areas.
• Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and translating complex information into actionable recommendations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate issues, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment while demonstrating ownership and initiative.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
• Experience with data systems, reporting tools, or analytical platforms is preferred.
• Fintech, banking, sponsor bank, or regulated industry experience is a plus.
• Experience with SQL or scripting languages is a plus.
• Relevant compliance, risk management, or data analytics certifications (such as CRCM or similar) are valued.
