The Compliance & Risk Management Lead will play a pivotal role in establishing and operationalizing an enterprise risk management (ERM) program for a large municipal energy and utilities organization. This senior advisory position requires hands-on leadership, guiding executives and cross-functional teams to implement policies, governance structures, risk assessment methodologies, and enterprise reporting. The role emphasizes embedding a risk-aware culture, driving compliance practices, and integrating risk frameworks into strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will provide actionable insights, develop scalable processes, and ensure robust ERM practices across the organization. This position offers a high-impact, collaborative environment with opportunities to influence enterprise-wide risk strategies.

• Develop and implement ERM policies, governance structures, risk taxonomies, risk registers, ranking criteria, and reporting capabilities.
• Operationalize risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting processes across the enterprise.
• Influence organizational culture to promote risk awareness and compliance at all levels.
• Collaborate with executives, operational leaders, and cross-functional teams to integrate risk management into decision-making and performance processes.
• Design templates, dashboards, governance documentation, and scalable processes to support enterprise risk programs.
• Lead facilitation sessions, provide coaching, and transfer knowledge to client personnel.
• Monitor risk trends, provide actionable insights, and recommend improvements to strengthen organizational resilience.

• 10+ years of leadership experience in ERM, corporate compliance, or risk governance.
• Proven success in building and implementing ERM programs within complex, highly regulated environments.
• Deep knowledge of ERM frameworks, methodologies, tools, and maturity models.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and coaching skills.
• Ability to analyze complex risk issues and translate them into clear priorities and actionable strategies.
• Experience working in matrixed organizations or consulting environments.
• Familiarity with regulated sectors such as utilities, energy, public sector, infrastructure, and critical services.
• Comfortable leading onsite engagements, managing multiple priorities, and driving execution under tight timelines.
