About the role

This role is based on Cape Cod. Candidates must reside on Cape Cod or within a reasonable commuting distance that allows for consistent, reliable on-site availability.


The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies to engage the community, build partnerships, and promote the organization’s mission and programs. This role serves as a bridge between the organization and the public, ensuring that community voices are heard and that services are accessible and well-utilized.


What you'll do

  • Community Engagement:
    • Plan and execute outreach events, workshops, and community meetings
    • Build relationships with local organizations, schools, businesses, and residents
    • Represent the organization at public events and forums
  • Program Promotion:
    • Develop and distribute promotional materials (flyers, newsletters, social media content)
    • Coordinate with development and marketing teams to amplify outreach efforts
  • · Partnership Development:
    • Identify and cultivate partnerships with community stakeholders
    • Collaborate with partners on joint initiatives and events
  • Data & Reporting:
    • Track outreach metrics and community feedback
    • Prepare reports on outreach outcomes and community needs
    • Maintain accurate records of contacts and activities
  • Volunteer Coordination (if applicable):
    • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for outreach events
    • Ensure volunteers are engaged and supported
    • Maintain a calendar of outreach activities and events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Work, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in community outreach, public engagement, or nonprofit work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
