The Communications Associate will play a central role in crafting compelling content, managing media relations, and elevating social media presence, while supporting strategic public engagement campaigns. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective project execution. Accountabilities:
  • Develop and distribute press releases, pitches, and media communications to maximize coverage and audience engagement
  • Manage and maintain a robust social media presence, including content creation, calendar planning, and trend monitoring
  • Collaborate with designers and internal teams to bring communication projects to life and ensure seamless execution
  • Support public engagement initiatives, including policy-related communications and earned media campaigns
  • Maintain internal communications systems, organize materials, and coordinate projects to keep operations running efficiently
  • Track and report on media coverage, engagement metrics, and campaign outcomes
Requirements:
  • Based in the United States
  • 2+ years of experience in communications, public relations, public affairs, or a related field
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills for press releases, op-eds, and social media content
  • Fluency with social media platforms and content management tools
  • Confidence and experience in pitching to journalists and media outlets
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Collaborative mindset, proactive approach, and solutions-oriented attitude
  • Preferred: familiarity with non-profit or tech sectors, AI policy or research, project management tools, and platforms like Muck Rack, SproutSocial, or Canva
