This role is focused on ensuring accurate, timely, and well-governed processing of commission payments and related financial activities within a complex broker network environment. You will play a key role in reconciling data, analyzing commission structures, and supporting accounting operations tied to broker compensation. The position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret financial data while identifying discrepancies and ensuring accuracy in reporting. You will collaborate closely with sales, broker relations, accounting, and operations teams to resolve payment issues and support ongoing process improvements. The environment is highly analytical and service-oriented, requiring both technical precision and strong communication skills. This role also offers opportunities to contribute to training initiatives and serve as a subject matter expert within the commissions function.
Accountabilities:- Process commission-related payments, accounting entries, and broker compensation reports with accuracy and timeliness
- Perform data reconciliation and investigate discrepancies related to commission payments and broker accounts
- Prepare scheduled, monthly, and ad hoc reports while supporting month-end close and reporting activities
- Analyze financial impacts of changes to broker accounts and commission structures
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable and other finance teams to ensure correct accounting treatment of commissions
- Review and validate commission reports, check requests, and supporting documentation
- Provide guidance and support to team members on complex commission cases and specialized market segments
- Interact with brokers and internal sales teams to resolve commission-related inquiries and issues
- Support training development and onboarding efforts for new and junior associates
- Participate in system enhancement projects, process improvements, and special initiatives as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or Commission/Compensation processing
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify inconsistencies
- Experience working with or supporting Sales, Marketing, Underwriting, or Broker Relations teams
- Proficiency in financial systems and strong attention to detail in data reconciliation tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured and deadline-driven environment
- Experience in training, mentoring, or supporting junior team members is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
