This role is a high-impact commercial sales position focused on driving strategic growth across K-12 education and local government accounts within a defined territory. You will be responsible for developing long-term client relationships, identifying customer needs, and delivering tailored networking and infrastructure solutions that enable digital transformation in the public sector. The position combines strategic account management with consultative selling, requiring strong technical understanding of networking environments and the ability to translate technology into business value. You will collaborate closely with internal technical, marketing, and sales engineering teams to build compelling solutions and win new business. This is a highly autonomous, field-driven role where your performance directly influences revenue growth and customer success. You will also act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping organizations modernize and secure their networking infrastructure.
Accountabilities:- Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow revenue across assigned K-12 and local government customers within the territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including IT leaders, district administrators, and public sector decision-makers.
- Identify customer challenges and present tailored networking solutions that address infrastructure, connectivity, security, and performance needs.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including pipeline development, forecasting, negotiation, and closing complex deals.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as sales engineers, product specialists, and marketing to develop proposals, bids, and solution presentations.
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction and identify expansion opportunities.
- Drive demand generation activities through events, conferences, webinars, and targeted outreach initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging networking technologies to support strategic positioning.
- Mentor junior team members and share best practices in account strategy and solution selling.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in sales or account management within networking, IT infrastructure, or technology solutions.
- Proven experience working with or selling into K-12 education or local government sectors is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies including LAN/WAN, routing, WLAN, and security solutions.
- Demonstrated success managing complex enterprise or public sector accounts and consistently achieving revenue targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute structured account plans.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field preferred; industry certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, etc.) are a plus.
