This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Site Reliability Engineer in the United States.

The Cloud Site Reliability Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud-native services. This role blends software engineering and systems administration to ensure uptime, optimize infrastructure, and proactively address potential issues. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage observability tools, automate operational tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive platform improvements. They will also contribute to disaster recovery planning, performance tuning, and security best practices. The position is remote with periodic travel as required, offering the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where cloud technologies and site reliability practices intersect.

Accountabilities

·         Write, configure, and deploy code to enhance system reliability and performance, ensuring adherence to coding standards.

·         Lead debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of complex system issues.

·         Implement and manage monitoring and observability platforms using tools such as Golang, Postgres, OpenTelemetry, and Terraform.

·         Optimize cloud infrastructure within GCP, including Kubernetes, for performance, cost, and scalability.

·         Collaborate with development teams to improve system reliability, applying platform engineering best practices.

·         Develop and maintain automated operational solutions, including on-call monitoring, performance tuning, and disaster recovery processes.

·         Ensure compliance with security standards, participate in audits, and implement preventative measures.

·         Maintain documentation, runbooks, and playbooks, contributing to knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.

Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.

·         3+ years of experience in SRE, Software Engineering, DevOps, or related roles.

·         2+ years of experience in cloud-native software application development.

·         Strong programming skills in Golang and scripting languages, with understanding of software development best practices.

·         Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform.

·         Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as OpenTelemetry or Dynatrace.

·         Expertise with cloud platforms, particularly Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

·         Experience with relational and document databases.

·         Strong problem-solving, debugging, and optimization skills in fast-paced environments.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
