We are seeking an experienced and driven Azure Cloud Reliability Engineer to join our high-performing technology team. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage our business-critical infrastructure on Microsoft Azure with a strong focus on scalability, security, reliability, and performance.

This is a high-impact, hands-on technical position where your Azure expertise and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices will directly influence the availability and resilience of our systems. You'll work cross-functionally with Engineering, IT Services, DevOps, and Security teams to build infrastructure that is cloud-native, automated, observable, and secure

Success in this role will be measured by high system availability, proactive monitoring, robust disaster recovery, effective project execution, and knowledge sharing within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as our Azure SME, constantly evaluating our infrastructure against evolving industry best practices and tool offerings, and providing clear technical recommendations.
  • Maintain all elements of our Azure Cloud network infrastructure, including, but not limited to: VMs, VDIs, App Gateways, Firewalls, DNS, VPNs, Proxies, and Databases.
  • Design and manage secure, scalable Azure environments including VNETs, Azure Virtual Desktop, Resource Groups, and Management Groups
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices (e.g., IAM, encryption, VNET peering, KMS, Key Vaults).
  • Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible
  • Drive observability through comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or New Relic
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure secure-by-default configurations (e.g., role-based access control, key vaults, WAF)
  • Drive automation through scripting and DevOps practices (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Lead incident response and postmortem analysis for critical infrastructure incidents.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring secure, automated, and reliable deployments.
  • Contribute to the definition and execution of disaster recovery (DR), backup, high availability (HA), and cost optimization strategies.
  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver infrastructure projects that enable core business objectives.
  • Facilitate technical knowledge sharing within the engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience in cloud networking and infrastructure engineering.
  • Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) or DevOps engineer in a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services, including VMs, VNETs, Load Balancers, Resource Groups, Azure Active Directory, Azure Virtual Desktop, and ARM templates.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native infrastructure design, including multi-region architecture, auto-scaling, failover, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience implementing monitoring, tracing, and logging in distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Windows system administration, networking, and database fundamentals (MySQL/PostgreSQL/NoSQL).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400) are a strong plus.
  • Experience working in a compliance-driven environment (SOC2, HIPAA, ISO).
  • Experience with cost management and Azure cost optimization strategies
